UPDATE: They went to the beauty parlor today!
Many thanks to Rebecca Dixon, owner of Apollo’s Paws Grooming on Grelot! Rebecca and her team gave them a shave down and wash up and a mani/pedi and they look marvelous! Now all they need is a good dinner, a warm blanket and a soft bed so they can rest up after their long day of pampering! They will see our vet Tuesday and be on the road to new homes.

So this happened. Someone dumped a pile of Shih Tzus outside our gate this morning. One of our staff found them wandering around in the street at the crack of dawn and they followed her in, begging for help. Then a couple of hours later, a volunteer showed up and found another puppy outside, all alone. They were wet, covered in fleas, dirty, frightened, horribly matted and desperate for help. They will need immediate grooming and lots of medical care. We suspect they are cover in sores under all that hair! We’ve included a link below to a Givebutter campaign to raise funds for their medical treatment and care. As a side note: OPEN MESSAGE TO THE PERSON WHO DUMPED THE SHIH TZU’s by the Mobile SPCA this morning: Please contact us anonymously to let us know how many puppies you left . . . we only want to make sure we have them all and there are none we couldn’t find who still need help. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE YOUR NAME AND WE ARE NOT COMING AFTER YOU. We only want to know all the dogs are safely in our care.
