Please, take them to the shelter

April 16, 2021 By MSPCA Staff Leave a Comment

When perusing Facebook, how often do you see people decrying “kill shelters”? Well-meaning folks who are simply ignorant of shelter designations are unwittingly doing animals everywhere a huge disservice, and at the same time, infuriating people who DO understand the differences and who work hard every single day to change inaccurate perceptions. Municipal shelters, private shelters, municipal partnerships, open intake and limited intake – we have all these in Mobile and Baldwin counties. And to compare them with one another, or call one “bad” and one “good” is no different than trying to compare any other two completely disparate things. This video is somewhat long but definitely worth watching. We are all responsible for homeless, neglected and abused animals, and we are all able to educate ourselves and others to make a lasting difference wherever we live.

Hi! Hello, I'm Milton, a wise and seasoned gentleman with a zest for life. My days are filled with exploring every nook and cranny of my surroundings, always on the lookout for a new mystery to solve. I pride myself on my independence and intelligence, but I do enjoy the occasional affectionate nuzzle when the mood strikes. I'm looking for a peaceful home where I can be the only cat to bask in all your attention. If you cherish quiet companionship and curious conversation, I'm your perfect match.

If you are interested in adopting a Milton or another a great Mobile SPCA cat or dog, call the Mobile SPCA at (251) 633-3531 or click here.  You will need to fill out an online application, so get started! Once we get your application we will review it and get back in touch with you and set up an appointment for you to come in. Like the rest of the world, we, too, are short staffed so please call ahead for an appointment. We want to make sure we have someone in the office to take care of you quickly.
The Mobile SPCA would like to thank WKRG News 5  and Premier Turf for sponsoring our WKRG News 5 Pet of the Week segment.
