Adoption & Placement

My name is Coco and my owner could no longer afford to take care of me. I'm a pretty calm kind of gal. My favorite game is called cuddling. I pretty much love everybody but that scary old thunder. Don't let him come near me! While I NOW understand the importance of healthy food choices and exercise, I think it's also important to 'embrace your curves'.  Here she is rockin’ her baby blue sweater, while she looks for a new partner to help her meet her new goals in 2015. CoCo is about 8 years old and 15 pounds - although she has lost some weight since she came to us she's working on slimming down! If you are interested in adopting CoCo or any of our get pets please call 633-3531 or fill out the online application. If you would like to adopt one of our great cats or dogs, call (251) 633-3531 or complete the online

The Mobile SPCA offers a variety of dogs and cats for adoption. Most have come from the City of Mobile Animal Shelter where they were found, picked up as strays or relinquished by their owners for a multitude of reasons including financial hardship, loss or change of job, divorce, marriage, birth of a child, allergies. Our veterinarian evaluated the health status of these animals and they have received quality care. They have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated with age-appropriate vaccines, including rabies, de-wormed, tested for heartworms and Feluk, for cats. All are on monthly flea and heartworm preventative.

We are very honest with potential adopters if we are aware of a certain behavior or health issue with a pet and will gladly disclose any information we have. For example some dogs do not like small children or men, or some dogs would do best in a home with another dog buddy. Our goal is to match and place our pets in the best home possible that will meet the needs of both the pet and adopter.

Adoption Center

The Mobile SPCA Dorothy Trabits Adoption Center is open six days a week for pet adoptions and cats are available at PetSmart in the Pinebook Shopping Center 7 days a week.
