Adoption & Placement

PET OF THE WEEK

My name is Chili. Some people might take me as grumpy but really I am always ready for a rip-roaring good time! I love to play and wrestle. Most cats don't like me because I like to tackle them and then give them a couple rabbit kicks, (I might do this to dogs and perhaps small children too.) I'm really just playing but I can be a little rough I guess. My first owner played really rough with me so I have learned a few naughty habits that I am trying to kick. I think I would do bettter in a home with someone who would really play with me to wear me out then we could settle down and cuddle a bit. I like to climb up high so I can see everything that goes on. If you toss stuffed animals into the air I will attack them for you all day long. I'm only two years old and I am outgoing and never meet a stranger. I have a luxuriant thick gray coat that you can brush for me. If you are interested in Chili or any of our grumpy and lovey cats and dogs please call (251) 633-3531 or complete the online

Don't forget we
recycle for cash!

Please bag up your aluminum and drop it by the office. Our own Mr. Roy crushes all the donated aluminum and bags it up for recycle. In 2014 he has crushed a whopping 3,341 pounds of aluminum and raised $2,461 — that aluminum means cash to buy supplies for the animals. We also recycle cell phones, old electric cords, Christmas lights, brass, copper, gold, silver and ink cartridges.

Vetary
Finance pet treatment with Vetary and give back to our pet shelter!

The Mobile SPCA offers a variety of dogs and cats for adoption. Most have come from the City of Mobile Animal Shelter where they were found, picked up as strays or relinquished by their owners for a multitude of reasons including financial hardship, loss or change of job, divorce, marriage, birth of a child, allergies. Our veterinarian evaluated the health status of these animals and they have received quality care. They have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated with age-appropriate vaccines, including rabies, de-wormed, tested for heartworms and Feluk, for cats. All are on monthly flea and heartworm preventative.

We are very honest with potential adopters if we are aware of a certain behavior or health issue with a pet and will gladly disclose any information we have. For example some dogs do not like small children or men, or some dogs would do best in a home with another dog buddy. Our goal is to match and place our pets in the best home possible that will meet the needs of both the pet and adopter.

Adoption Center

The Mobile SPCA Dorothy Trabits Adoption Center is open five days a week for pet adoptions and cats are available at PetSmart in the Pinebook Shopping Center 7 days a week.
