Adoption & Placement

PET OF THE WEEK

My name is Cassie and I wandered up into somebody's yard as a stray. The neighbor's wanted me gone so they shot guns at me to scare me away. Luckily a very nice lady sheltered me until help arrived. I am very sweet and friendly. I go in my crate when told although it helps if there’s a cookie in it. I can jump really high and need a 6 ft fence and another dog to play with. I love toys and will run around the yard and play chase with them in my mouth and then hide the toy in a safe place. I am very interested in the kitties but they just don't want to play with me. I love love love the water hose, going for rides, getting my bath and peanut butter. I am not too crazy about little kids but older ones are cool and I love to play with them.  I am just 2 years old and only 38 pounds. If you would like to adopt, call (251) 633-3531 or complete the online

The Mobile SPCA offers a variety of dogs and cats for adoption. Most have come from the City of Mobile Animal Shelter where they were found, picked up as strays or relinquished by their owners for a multitude of reasons including financial hardship, loss or change of job, divorce, marriage, birth of a child, allergies. Our veterinarian evaluated the health status of these animals and they have received quality care. They have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated with age-appropriate vaccines, including rabies, de-wormed, tested for heartworms and Feluk, for cats. All are on monthly flea and heartworm preventative.

We are very honest with potential adopters if we are aware of a certain behavior or health issue with a pet and will gladly disclose any information we have. For example some dogs do not like small children or men, or some dogs would do best in a home with another dog buddy. Our goal is to match and place our pets in the best home possible that will meet the needs of both the pet and adopter.

Adoption Center

The Mobile SPCA Dorothy Trabits Adoption Center is open six days a week for pet adoptions and cats are available at PetSmart in the Pinebook Shopping Center 7 days a week.
